By Virginia Kroll
Sarah receives a new computer game from Grandma and Grandpa. When the big snowstorm arrives overnight and school is cancelled, Sarah plans to play her computer game with friends all day. But her snow day plans are ruined when the power goes out. Too many broken branches on the ground make it impossible to make a snowman with friends outside, and there is not enough of her favorite food in the house. Sarah pouts. When Sarah sees her neighbors working together outside to clean up the mess from the storm, she realizes that being a good citizen isn't just about obeying laws as she had learned in school. It's about being a good neighbor and helping others when they need it. Saran bundles up and gets to work! This book would be a fine addition to a congregational library. Don't miss the sweetly illustrated neighborhood dogs, cats, and birds that appear throughout. For ages 4-8. This review was written by Nanette Goings for Congregational Libraries Today.
